Description

A fascinating object, the Bubble Nebula is one of the most intricate nebula from my experience.  The bubble itself is a slightly different color then the surrounding H-alpha.  In the densely populated region of stars, it is more of a subjective choice to de-emphasize the stars so as not to overwhelm the nebula.  I chose to leave the background a little brighter to allow for the subtle dust and low-surface brightness of the surrounding region.

From Wikipedia:
The "bubble" is created by the stellar wind from a massive hot, 8.7=reference[1]magnitude young central star, SAO 20575 (BD+60°2522).=reference[7] The nebula is near a giant molecular cloud which contains the expansion of the bubble nebula while itself being excited by the hot central star, causing it to glow.=reference[7] It was discovered in November 1787 by William Herschel.
